Isabella Atandi is a current graduate student at New York University pursuing a master’s of public health degree with a concentration in Biostatistics.  She is currently working as a research coordinator focused on studying Non-Tuberculous Mycobacterium within the Bronchiectasis patient population at NYU Langone Health and Bellevue Hospital. 

Her initial interest in global health stemmed significantly from growing up as the daughter of two immigrants in a Kenyan-Australian household.  Her desire to work within the public health field was further solidified by her time as the Global Health Intern at the University of Central Florida, and through her coursework taken for her minor in Medical Anthropology. 

This summer she will be engaging in research to evaluate a family planning program in West Pokot and Elgeyo Marakwet, Kenya.  She is excited to have the opportunity through HealthRight to gain experience and work with different NGOs in Kenya.

Isabella joined HealthRight in May 2024
