On March 8th, 2023, HealthRight International and the NYU School of Global Public Health held an insightful event that shed light on the current situation in Ukraine, following Russia’s invasion. The discussion featured Halyna Skipalska, our HealthRight Ukraine Country Director, and was led by CEO Peter Navario. During the seminar, Skipalska shared her experiences on the ground after the invasion and how HealthRight has been working tirelessly to provide essential health services and humanitarian aid to thousands of affected Ukrainians. She emphasized the importance of building local capacity, supporting livelihoods, and empowering women, children, and internally-displaced Ukrainians. She stated that “It is important now to invest in people who are in Ukraine…We need people who are brave, who want to help…as an investment in human resources.” Navario also spoke about HealthRight’s commitment to promoting resilience and building sustainable solutions for the communities they serve. The event highlighted inspiring stories of resilience from people impacted by HealthRight’s work, showcasing the significant impact that their efforts have had on individuals and communities in need. Overall, the event was a powerful reminder of the critical role that we’re playing in providing support and aid to vulnerable populations in times of crisis. Our team’s work in Ukraine is a testament to the power of resilience and the importance of building sustainable solutions for those in need.
