The Elton John AIDS Foundation’s recent support strengthens HealthRight’s response to better meet the health needs of marginalized adolescents and women in Ukraine. Ukraine has experienced one of the fastest growing HIV epidemic in Eastern Europe, with youth and women as two of the most vulnerable populations for incarceration in high HIV-prevalence prisons.

Building upon over a decade of experience, this project aims to provide high-quality, accessible HIV education, counseling and case management in juvenile and women’s prisons. A holistic approach is taken to reduce recidivism and promote HIV prevention education, especially for individuals at-risk of incarceration and those exiting the prison system.
