In January 2017, HealthRight was awarded follow-up support from the Harman Family Foundation, enabling us to continue our work supporting the forensic and follow-up case management needs of unaccompanied migrant children (UMC) in the New York metropolitan area. This project follows on a successful 2016 project, through which HealthRight trained over 40 medical and mental health volunteers to provide effective forensic evaluations and affidavits for vulnerable immigrant children seeking asylum and other forms of relief. HealthRight will plan to host another child-focused volunteer clinician training later in 2017.
