To all our supporters:

On behalf of the HealthRight Staff and Board, I am writing to let you know that we are thinking of you – the broader HealthRight family of supporters, volunteers and donors – in this difficult and uncertain time. We cannot do what we do without you, and we hope you are staying home and staying healthy.

Given that HealthRight’s health system strengthening work is human resource intensive, virtually all of our projects are currently on hold, and our staff are working from home in all five countries where we operate.

That said we are using this opportunity to focus on improving internal processes like building out our new data management system, pursuing new grant opportunities, and staying in close contact with our government partners to support national COVID-19 response efforts where possible. We are monitoring the situation closely in Kenya and Uganda in particular, where weaker health systems combined with co-morbid infections including TB, malaria, HIV and pneumonia will be potentially devastating.

Nevertheless, we find strength and optimism in knowing that you are part of a community that cares deeply about the most marginalized among us, and that you stand with us in our shared belief that health is a human right. Now more than ever.
