Willa Serling is an undergraduate student at Colorado College majoring in Anthropology and minoring in Global Health and Human Biology and Kinesiology. She has worked with a non- governmental health organization in Western Kenya that strives to mitigate stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS. During her semester abroad, she explored how social factors may affect HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment in Vietnam, South Africa and Argentina. From these past experiences, she has developed a strong interest in the correlations between communicable diseases, access to health care, social determinants of health and epidemiology. Willa hopes to integrate her involvements and interests to help improve health equity as a HealthRight intern.
