Alexandra Dennis is an undergraduate student at NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study majoring in Humanitarian Affairs and minoring in Peace and Conflict Studies. She is interested in refugee resettlement and addressing health issues in conflict-affected communities. She has experience working in Accra, Ghana with malnourished and at-risk communities to create sustainable solutions for child and maternal malnutrition in the Greater Accra Region. She has also worked with a variety of nonprofits, including Priorities on Rights and Sexual Health, where she participated in program implementation to help guide the trajectory of HIV testing and treatment in Ghana. Her work is centered on mindful humanitarian-aid, specifically in adopting culturally sensitive programs in rapidly changing spaces. In working with HealthRight, she is expecting to expand her knowledge of fundraising and executing sustainable health interventions.
