Alejandra Villanueva is an MHA student at Columbia University. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Public Health with minors in Business and Sociology from the University of North Texas at Dallas. Alejandra has a background in assessing the needs of communities through her work as a Fellow in the Young Women’s Advisory Council and through her volunteer experience with Children’s Hospital. Her research interest include searching for sustainable solutions for the major healthcare issues faced by hospitals and healthcare systems today. Alejandra is also a current mentee of the National Association of Healthcare Executives (AHHE) program where she works alongside Alina Moran, CEO of NYC Health + Hospitals-Metropolitan, to explore new strategic initiatives in relation to the needs of the hospital, patients, and the near by community.
