10th Annual Friends of Peter C. Alderman Walk and Carnival

On Sunday, September 16th – The Peter C. Alderman Program for Global Mental Health will host its 10th annual “Friends of Peter C. Alderman Walk and Carnival” at Fenway Golf Club in White Plains, NY (384 Old Mamaroneck Road).

Peter C. Alderman, who was a Scarsdale, NY-native, died at the age of 25 on September 11th, 2011 in the World Trade Center attacks. The Peter C. Alderman Program for Global Mental Health was created in his honor and is now part of HealthRight International, which is a global health and human rights organization. The program is dedicated to strengthening mental health, recovery and resilience for communities devastated by violence and armed conflict. Through direct implementation and partners, HealthRight’s Peter C. Alderman Program for Global Mental Health is currently operating at 18 clinics across Uganda and Burundi – helping approximately 100,000 people. The organization is currently working to extend the program’s reach across all HealthRight initiatives and countries to address the mental health needs of marginalized populations.

The ”Friends of Peter C. Alderman Walk and Carnival” aims to raise additional funds for the program as well as preserve the legacy of Peter C. Alderman. The day’s festivities include a 30 minute walk, followed by a carnival featuring BBQ, games and prizes. Walkers should arrive at 3:00 pm ET, non-walker attendees should arrive at 3:30 pm ET. Please note that walkers are required to fundraise a minimum of $250.
