HealthRight International and the NYU College of Global Public Health invite you to join the UN Secretary-General’s UNiTE campaign to End Violence Against Women. This campaign is a part of the global #16days of activism which calls for an end to gender-based violence.
Help us #OrangeTheWorld by turning Washington Square Park and the NYU campus orange to raise awareness on this important issue.
How to Get Involved
- We encourage students, faculty, and community members to wear an orange garment on this day (Day 13) around campus
- Visit one of the informational booths at the Kimmel Center, Schwartz Plaza, Weinstein, and Washington Square Park
- Fill in and take a photo or video with our poster prompt and tag us: @healthright, @nyupublichealth, and @SayNO_UNiTE
This is not just for NYU students, so spread the word!
More information about the campaign:
“25 November is the International Day to End Violence against Women, and the beginning of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence Campaign, which runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day. This year, the United Nations commemoration, led by the UN Secretary-General’s UNiTE campaign, is focusing on prevention of violence against women and girls. Through specialized programmes and comprehensive policy, we can put an end to violence against women and girls – but not without a global movement united under the colour orange, which symbolizes a brighter future without violence.”
